A Hectic August

August was such mayhem! I had an advanced English class to complete, our roof needs fixing, and various other stresses. Thank goodness for my garden… We’ve had such beautiful flowers.

We’ve had a fair share of cherry tomatoes and cucumbers growing up. Cucumbers as large as my wrist showed up a few times as well. Our mighty cilantro that survived the winter went to seed and we harvested the coriander for next year. I don’t remember when we’ve eaten so many tomatoes!

We’ve already done seeding for an autumn harvest in bed four. We planted a type of zucchini, kohlrabi, chard, spinach, lettuce, and peas. They are all ones that MIGardener recommend for a fall harvest as they like cooler temperatures. We need to go buy some trellises for the peas and zucchini as they are already sprouting like mad. This is my first time growing from seeds so it should be a learning curve.
